Privacy Policy

LifeSpeak Inc. is committed to preserving and safeguarding your right to privacy. As part of this commitment, we want you to be fully aware of what happens to the personal information we collect through your use of LifeSpeak.com (the “Site”). Accordingly, this Privacy Policy sets out the manner in which we will collect, use, disclose and otherwise manage your personal information.

As used here, “LifeSpeak Inc.” means LifeSpeak Inc. and where appropriate, its affiliated organizations, such as LifeSpeak (USA) Inc.

What Do We Collect?

LifeSpeak Inc. collects the personal information you provide us, such as your name and e-mail address when you:

  • Fill out a form on a Site;
  • Request to communicate with us;
  • Send us an email; or
  • Login to your client site through lifespeak.com.

We also may automatically collect general anonymous information related to your use of our Site, such as the date and time you visit the Site and the pages you visit on the Site as well as collecting “cookie” information from your browser to identify your computer and provide us with a record of your visits to our Site (collectively, “Usage Data”). The technology used to gather “cookie” information is provided by the Internet browser you use and may be turned off by using your browser preference buttons.

Google Analytics cookies are used to collect information about how visitors use our Web site. We use this information to compile reports and to help us improve the Web site. The cookies collect information in an anonymous form, including the number of visitors to the Site, from where visitors have come to the Site, and the pages they visited. To opt-out of these cookies, visit Google.

The LinkedIn Insight Tag on our Site enables the collection of data regarding your visit to our website, including the URL, referrer, IP address, device and browser characteristics (User Agent), and timestamp. The IP addresses are truncated or (when used for reaching members across devices) hashed, and LinkedIn members’ direct identifiers are removed within seven days in order to make the data pseudonymous. This remaining pseudonymized data is then deleted within 180 days.  LinkedIn does not share the personal data with us, it only provides reports and alerts (which do not identify you) about the website audience and ad performance. LinkedIn also provides retargeting for website visitors, enabling us to show personalized ads off its website by using this data, but without identifying the LinkedIn member. LinkedIn can use data that does not identify you to improve their ad relevance and reach members across devices. LinkedIn members can control the use of their personal data for advertising purposes through their LinkedIn account settings.

If you disable cookies, your ability to use some features of the Site may be limited.

What do we use the data for?

Except as otherwise stated, we may use your information to improve the content of our site, to customize the site to your preferences (e.g., language) and to communicate information to you for our marketing and research purposes.

LifeSpeak Inc. uses the personal information that you provide to us for such purposes as responding to your requests and communicating with you (e.g., responding to a request for a product demonstration.) The Usage Data helps us to understand how our Site is used (e.g., which pages or sections are most popular and when the peak activity times occur) and to assist us in planning for future improvements to the Site to better meet our visitors’ needs.

We do not use your data to make automated decisions.

Your Data and Third Parties

Except as set out in this policy, LifeSpeak Inc. will not sell, transfer or otherwise disclose any of your personal information to any third party without your consent. We must provide your personal information in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order to an investigative body in the case of a breach of an agreement or contravention of law, or as otherwise required by law.

In certain instances, we may make your information available to third parties with whom we have a relationship where that third party is providing services on our behalf. We will only provide those third parties with information that is necessary for them to perform the services and we take measures to protect your information. We use third-party video serving companies, Brightcove and Amazon Web Services, to stream our video content to you, but your personal information is not sent to them. We also work with a third-party data center hosting company, JIG Technologies, but they do not have access to your personal data. Only a few LifeSpeak Inc. employees with a need to have access to the database have access to any personal data. In addition, we use a website hosting company, Siteground, to host lifespeak.com.

LifeSpeak Inc.’s site offers opportunities to communicate with us by e-mail. Because normal e-mail is not encrypted, the possibility exists that unauthorized individuals may intercept e-mail messages. LifeSpeak Inc. is not responsible for the privacy of e-mail messages except those stored in our system.

LifeSpeak Inc. would never ask for personal information such as social security numbers or bank account information through email communications.

Other Important Things You Should Know about Your Data

We will maintain your personal information in secure data storage to safeguard it from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. We will only keep your personal information for as long as it remains necessary or relevant for the purposes stated above or as required by law.

The personal data that you supply to us is securely housed in Canada.
